Extension Of Operating Hours For Train And Bus Services This Festive Season
SINGAPORE (17 December 2010) – Commuters have more reasons to celebrate this festive season as the MRT, LRT, and selected SBS Transit and SMRT bus services will be operating beyond the usual hours on Christmas Eve (Friday, 24 December 2010) and New Year's Eve (Friday, 31 December 2010).
Transit Link Pte Ltd, on behalf of the public transport operators, is pleased to announce the following extended operating hours:
MRT TRAIN SERVICES:

SBS Transit North East Line Services
SBS Transit will be adding close to 330 additional trips during this festive season to cater to the expected increase in passenger demand.Additional Train Trips on 18, 19, 25, 26 December and 1 January
SBS Transit will be adding 48 train trips to the North East Line on the above dates to enhance frequency to 5 minutes for the evening period.NorthEast Line Services on Christmas Eve
On Christmas Eve, 41 trips will be added after the evening peak hours to enhance frequency to 5 minutes.
The last Northbound train will depart from HarbourFront Station at 1.36am and the last Southbound train will depart from Punggol Station at 1.08am.NorthEast Line Services on New Year's Eve
On New Year's Eve, 47 trips will be added after the evening peak hours to enhance frequency to 5 minutes.

SMRT Train Services on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Eve
In addition to the 220 train trips added weekly for the month of December 2010 to shorten waiting times for commuters, SMRT will be adding 96 train trips on Christmas Eve to serve the anticipated increase in commuters travelling on the North-South (NS) and East-West (E-W) Lines. SMRT will also be adding 118 train trips on the NS and EW Lines on Christmas Day, and 154 train trips on New Year's Eve to enhance travel during the festive season.Passengers should refer to the notice boards at the respective stations beforehand for information on the last connecting trains.
Please refer to Annex A for train service extension hours for NS Line, EW Line and Circle Line, including last train timings and connecting train details on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.
Train Services to Expo and Changi Airport Stations
Train services to Expo and Changi Airport stations will not be extended on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. The last train timings are:
- Last train departing from Tanah Merah Station to Changi Airport Station: 11.50pm.
- Last train departing from Changi Airport Station to Tanah Merah Station: 12.06am.
- Last train departing from Expo Station to Tanah Merah Station: 12.11am.
LRT TRAIN SERVICES:

SBS Transit Sengkang LRT Services
On Christmas Eve, the last Sengkang LRT train will depart from Sengkang Town Centre Station at 2.15am.On New Year's Eve, the last Sengkang LRT train will depart from Sengkang Town Centre Station at 2.45am.

SBS Transit Punggol LRT Services
On Christmas Eve, the last Punggol LRT train will depart from Punggol Town Centre Station at 2.18am.On New Year's Eve, the last Punggol LRT train will depart from Punggol Town Centre Station at 2.47am.

SMRT Bukit Panjang LRT Services
The last Bukit Panjang LRT train service will be extended to match the last SMRT train service at Choa Chu Kang MRT Station on both Christmas and New Year's eves.On Christmas Eve, the last Bukit Panjang LRT train will depart from Choa Chu Kang LRT Station at 2.18am.
On New Year's Eve, the last Bukit Panjang LRT train will depart from Choa Chu Kang LRT Station at 2.52am.
Notices will be put up on the station notice boards to inform passengers about the extended operating hours.

SBS Transit Bus Services
SBS Transit Nite Owl Services
SBS Transit Nite Owl Services (1N, 2N, 3 N, 4N, 5N and 6N) will operate on the eves of Christmas, 24 December 2010 and New Year, 31 December 2010. All six Nite Owl services will be extended to operate from 12 midnight to 4am. -
SMRT Bus Services
SMRT will be extending the operating hours of the following bus services to match the last MRT train timing on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.

SMRT NightRider Services
NightRider services (NR1, NR2, NR3, NR5, NR6, NR7 and NR8) will operate from 24 December (Christmas Eve) to 25 December 2010 and 31 December 2009 (New Year's Eve) to 1 January 2011.
Notices will be put up at most bus stops offering NightRider Services to inform passengers about the non-operational days of our NightRider services.
