Extension Of Public Transport Services For This Lunar New Year Festive Season
SINGAPORE (08 February 2010) – Transit Link Pte Ltd, on behalf of the public transport operators, is pleased to announce that the following MRT, LRT and selected SBS Transit and SMRT buses will be operating beyond the usual hours during this Lunar New Year festive season.
MRT/LRT TRAIN SERVICES
- SBS Transit Train Services (North East Line / Sengkang and Punggol LRT services)
On Saturday, 13 February (Lunar New Year's Eve), SBS Transit will extend the operating hours of train services along the North East Line as well as the Sengkang and Punggol LRT as shown in the table below.

24 new trips will also be added to the Sunday and public holiday schedules of the North East Line to cater to expected demand. They will commence from Sunday, 14 February 2010.
- SMRT North South, East West Lines & Circle Lines
On Lunar New Year's Eve, SMRT will extend the operating hours of train services along the East - West Line and the North South line as shown in the table below.

The last Northbound train departing from Marina Bay Station at 2.06am, will be the last train to connect to the Circle Line at Bishan Interchange. Passengers, on Eastbound and Westbound trains, who wish to take the last train connecting to the Circle Line at Bishan Interchange, are advised to board the last train departing from Marina Bay Station at 2.06 am.There will also be no connection for the last Northbound-arriving train arriving at Jurong East Interchange.
Train services to and from Expo and Changi Airport MRT stations will not be extended and the last train timing remains unchanged.

BUS SERVICES:

SBS Transit Bus Services
No service for six SBS Transit bus services
Six SBS Transit bus services (11, 96, 502, 518, CT8 and CT18), will not be in service on the first three days of the Lunar New Year from 14 to 16 February 2010. The bus services will resume service on Wednesday, 17 February 2010. [Please refer to Annex A, Annex B, Annex C for more details.]SBS Transit Nite Owl Services (1N to 6N)
On Sunday and Monday, 14 and 15 February 2010, six Nite Owl services – 1N, 2N, 3N, 4N, 5N and 6N – will be in service from midnight to 2.00 am.Chinatown Direct Services
The operating hours for the three Chinatown Direct Services (CT 8, CT 18 and CT 28), will be extended on Friday and Saturday, 12 and 13 February 2010 to serve commuters shuttling between Chinatown and the three suburban estates - Ang Mo Kio, Bedok and Clementi.
The last bus to Chinatown will depart at 11.00 pm while the last bus back from Chinatown will depart at 2.00am from the bus stop along Outram Road (outside New Bridge Road Terminal). [Please refer to Annex C for more details.]SBS Transit Services Route Diversions
15 SBS Transit bus services (2, 12, 33, 54, 63, 80, 124, 143, 145, 147, 166, 197, CT 8, CT 18 and CT 28) will be temporarily diverted from 5pm when New Bridge Road and Eu Tong Sen Street, between the junctions of Upper Cross Street and Kreta Ayer Road, will be closed for the Chinatown Lunar New Year Countdown on 13 February 2010. SMRT Bus Services
SMRT Feeder Bus Services
SMRT will be extending the operating hours of selected feeder bus services at Bukit Batok, Choa Chu Kang, Sembawang, Woodlands and Yishun to match the last train timings on 13 February (14 January morning). [Please refer to Annex E for more details.]SMRT NightRider (Nr) Services
NR Services will operate as usual on 12, 13 and 14 February. There will be no NR services on 15 February.Express & Premium Services

SMRT will be offering a free Chinatown Shuttle Bus Service to provide greater convenience to commuters going to Chinatown from 12 to 13 February. The public can hop onto the shuttle service from Tanjong Pagar and Raffles Place MRT stations to soak in the festivities at Chinatown.
SMRT will also be providing a free SMRT Link shuttle services from 13 to 16 February to catch ride to Chinatown. Commuters alighting at Outram Park and Dhoby Ghaut MRT stations can hop onto the loop service, which runs at 15-minute intervals. The shuttle service will call at nine stops between Tanjong Pagar and Raffles Place MRT stations via South Bridge Road and Robinson Road. [Please refer to Annex F for more details.]
